CORY CORDIA

MULTI INSTRUMENTALIST - EDUCATOR - FUNK FANATIC,

At 33 multi instrumentalist and keyboardist Cory Cordie has spent most of his life living and breathing music. His musical journey began in the 2nd grade with the piano, sparking a lifelong obsession with rhythm and melody. By the 5th grade, he picked up the trombone, followed by the guitar in seventh and eventually the drums and the bass during high school. This relentless curiosity led him to explore every ensemble available. From concert, marching, jazz and honor band to honor choir and musical theater.

THE EDUCATOR

Driven by a passion to share this knowledge, Cory earned a degree in k - 12 Music Education, anchoring his diverse practical skill with deep pedigogical expertise.

THE PLAYER

While trained across classical, jazz and metal landscapes, Cory's heart beats firmly to groove of funk, drawing heavily from the one and only, legendary Funkadelic. This musical versatility has made him a comodity in the live scene, performing in various projects as a guitarist, horn player and keyboardist. Notably he spent time touring thoughout Arizona and new Mexico as the trumpet player for the ska band it gets worse, and his playing is permanently captured on the band's album Big Deal.

Whether he's holding down the low end, ripping a horn line or laying down a keyboard groove, Cory brings an enormous depth of expertise and infectious energy to every part he plays.
